Welcome to SoCal Vintage BMW
John Barlow and I want to express our deepest gratitude to those that helped make
the first SoCal Vintage BMW Meet a huge success - we could not have made it
such a special inaugural event without your support.  We had excellent weather,
well over 100 cars there, an exceptional turnout for a first year event with all the
other things competing for ones attention in Southern California.

Most importantly, the drivers who attended the show were very, very happy with
the event, now having a 'home show' they can look forward to every year.  We had
people commending us all day at the event and it continued on line and via email.
Those of you who made it, you know what we're speaking of.  For those that could
not attend this year, we are hoping to have your active participation with all our
events going forward.

Since we had so many inquires about being part of our event from many different
groups in the SoCal Vintage community, next year's Meet will be a '25 year' show -
which means all BMW's 25 years and older will be invited to attend.  This will be a
significantly larger and more comprehensive show, encompassing early 3, 5, 6 & 7
series cars that were built from 1984 and back in addition to the existing earlier
cars that were here this year.  We'll try to shake out a local M1 or two as well!

Of course, any BMW (or other interesting marque) is always welcome on our
drives, and we are already planning the schedule of drives leading up to next year's
Meet, which will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2009.  We have been getting
some interest from both the sponsor and driver side in planning drives that end up
at an 'open house' at one of our sponsor locations.  We are already planning one in
the Angeles Crest that will end up at Ireland Engineering, and we hoping to again
have our OC drive that ends at Coast Motorwerk's Beer, Brats & BMW's event
next summer.  We are hoping to do a few of these that encompass the entire
geography from San Diego to the Central Coast.

Also we want to hear from you about your experience at the Meet, both positive
and (if any!) negatives.  Feedback will help us to build our events in the future so
all needs and desires can be taken into account.

Again, thank you all for your help.  We plan on making the Southern California
Vintage BMW community a growing and significant entity now and into the future.

We look forward to seeing you again in Woodley Park in October, 2009.

Happy and safe driving!
